Default Running lean...

So I have been reading up on the forums about running lean, and its like a never ending story...some owners say they are running near to perfect air fuel ratio while others are running dangerously lean like me without any type of standalone. I don't want to run my car too hard and have something crazy go wrong!

I also read that vafc2 or safc 2 would help get the car back to running a safe air fuel ratio, but last time I tried to tune with vafc2, it was a nightmare! No luck what so ever!

If anyone has any suggestions that can help my situation, I would appreciate it a lot! If not it looks like kpro, emanage, or ems here I come (even though I have no budget for it...)

depending on what you're trying to do down the road EMS will probably be the best bet as well.

But Lean condition could also be caused by your stock injectors being worn out and not able to provide the right amount of fuel even though you have the pressure. Try PM s2000Junky, he has some success in running 400cc injectors with the stock ECU, and he was running a very nice AFR curve.

It would be a much cheaper none-bandaid solution if your stock injectors aren't keeping up.

p.s. That reminds me, I still gotta get my 11psi pulley back from you soon, I might have a buyer. Unless you want to buy it from me of course, you get first dibs.

Lol let me know when you need the pulley and belts Brian.

But...hmmm just upgrading the injectors might be the better solution...or what if i replace my stock injectors with brand new stock injectors? Would that help the situation?

Having your stock injectors serviced would be just as good as buying new ones and it would be a third the price.

Do you know how lean you are running or is it an assumption? Usually FMU's tend to, more times than not run lean as your coming into boost then get rich. Every set up differs a little bit.

Learn form all the crap you went through with used VAFC's. Sometimes it pays to bite the bullet and buy Brand new. Then if its bad it will be taken care of with no extra money form your pocket. Its always better to get a K-pro or AEM but not everyone has the money to do so. since you are running low boost your most cost effective up grade would be replace the fuel pump so you know its performing with higher fuel pressure, and a vafc with slightly bigger injectors. Keep in mind the VAFC doesn't like to control injectors more than 30% larger than stock.

my car ran lean with a TP, and actually lost power. Go with a HFC and your stock ECU will be much happier.

Well we will see the results when I put in new stock injectors. Hopefully it solves the problem, I am afraid of even pushing my car past 7500 rpm =(
