Default Sell or keep? + best summer rubber?

As many of you know, I grabbed me some V3s last year, and because I DD my S, I put some Toyo Proxes 4s on them to handle the cold & rain better over the winter. My V2s have been waiting to get sold, but now I am thinking of putting the Proxes 4s on them and getting summer rubber back on the V3s. Good idea? If I do that, what are people liking for summer tires these days? Or should I just sell the V2s and be done with it?

The Proxes 4s aren't a bad tire, it all depends if you have driven them to their limits. If you have then you probably want to change them out.

IMHO if you are planning to keep the V2's then I would put the Proxes on the V2s and use them for the off season, and get a good summer tire for the V3s. This way you get a tire that provide you great dry traction and protect your V3 from the harsher elements during the off season.

As for summer tires, I think what many are wanting to try, including myself is the Dunlop Direzza ZII, the succesor to the Dunlop z1 star spec. So far they have received some good reviews.

Keep us updated on what tire you go with if you choose to get a good summer tire.

Yes, what you are suggesting is probably what I'll do. Looking at the Potenza RE11-A, too. New tire with some great reviews coming through. The Direzza ZII also on the short list. I'll keep you all posted on what I get and what I think of them.

The RE-11A is definitely a contender. I have always liked Bridgestone tires. Another tire that is getting great reviews is the BF Goodrich G-Force Rival.

If you can swing it, having 2 sets of wheels/tires for a daily driven S seems like a great idea John.

My $.02

Ordered my set of RE-11As from Costco! $100 less for the set than tirerack.com. I slap them on in about a week. Stay tuned.
