Default St. Helens Poster

Hey all.

*NEW INFO*

Still no headway on a further price reduction. After talking with the gal who heads up production, she mentioned to me that a 1' x 3' is considered "standard" for panoramic photos and if I went with a 1' x 4' it would be hard to find frames to fit without going custom. 12"x36" frames can be found at just about anywhere.

With that in mind, I had to adjust the poster layout. I am sorry to keep altering things on you all .
It reduces the overall size of the picture (unfortunate) and leaves some extra blank space on the sheet. I moved some things around to compensate a little bit and came up with two extra ideas we could try to include if people wanted.

1) Add signatures of all the people from the photo (either the owner, or both owner/passenger if there was). I could get scans or actual signatures from people to scan and overlay on the poster. (This could take a while to gather them all)

2) Add the username and/or first name of the driver of each car. Either below, or above the photo of their car (or alternating top/bottom if it gets too crowded)

Comments/Opinions?
Larry, would you check with your source on possible cost as well? No harm seeing other options

Current count:

VintageMac - 1
mysilvers2k - 1
BB_S2k - 1 (?)
DalRio07 - 2
Tual06S2k - 1

REVS 9K - 1
S2KPDX - 1
S2KANDNSX - 2

14 (15?) at this point. The most recent quote I got was $33/ea for 10-15 so I assume if we go over 15 it would drop to $30/ea.

Here is the most recent alteration.

I like the top one with script lettering. I will buy one. Let me know the final price and let's see who else is willing. Hopefully more will pitch in and get the price down a bit.
Thanks for all your time and effort with this shot! Looks great!

I also like the one on top. It gives it a classy look. Count me in for one.

I like the top one, too. The italicized lettering looks more "racy".

I have a printing company contact in China. I could send them the image and get a quote if you are interested... High quality and undoubtably cheap!

I'm all for other pricing options.

The biggest reason I like this company is that they specialize in large format prints that basically look/feel like giant photos, not printed paper. But that is far from the end-all be-all for using them .

I like the top one as well. Most likely in for one as well.

One small critique - is there any way to smooth (or color match) the transitions between the pics? Like using the hue saturation or something.

I actually did a fair bit of color balancing and have been going through and doing some small touchups (even now) to fix some repeating patterns and color blemishes.

My primary concern was to keep the color shift as close as possible where the seams overlapped on a car, and didnt focus on the trees and gravel as much. Probably will keep trying to adjust it for the next week or so since I will always notice things that could be better.

There are only 4 seams in the photo:
-At the right side of the front fender of my car (4th from left) just
before the door jam
-At the front edge of the rim for the 2nd yellow car (forgot who, my bad)
-Through the right mirror of John's car and down the hood
-Through the headlight and bumper of the 4th car from the right (again, not sure whos)

I will say thatit may seem like more due to the reflections of the water off the hillside trees.

Please, everybody mark out or note anything you see that bothers you so I can look into fixing it. I want this to turn out as perfect as possible if people are going to end up wanting this printed.

Every monitor has a different calibration and will display the color variance differently, so if something is noticable to you but not me, let me know!

Ditto on the top version.

Count Janice & I in for two copies.

Could we get an email copy?

We are the second yellow car.

Thanks,

Dave

Does that price include framing??

I like them both. It will be a tough decision, but sign me up for one copy of the top one.

Can you email me both?

Doug
