Default a strange question

So I was wondering what the inner diameter of the exhaust tips is on an AP2. . . just wondering if one might fit on my Civic's exhaust pipe...

yeah sure its ghetto, but I miss the S, and it could be one little way to carry a piece of the S around with me, and I think it would actually look really nice... So if someone could measure it for me, or if better yet someone has one laying around they'd sell me that would be great....

help a brotha out yo.

TIA

^

I hear ya though, Jay. I want to take my shift knob to the next car so in a way I'm still driving my S.

FWIW I think my tip is about 238 feet inner radius... You can try fitting one of mine on? And you said you were ghetto...

Hey Jay, now that you've had your new Civic for a while I'm just curious as to what your impressions are? Likes? Dislikes? Gas mileage? Fill-up cost? Any other opinions ...

- Peaceful
- comfortable
- practical
- quiet (but you can still hear the engine)
- a very nice modern style to everything
- enjoy still having a digital speedo
- the interior is very spacious and very practically laid out
- sexy and sleek exterior
- one touch moonroof is trick
- EX has nice wheels and good brakes from the factory
- I love the way the speedo and tach light up with a fade at different stages as you 1) open the door and 2) put the key in, just a neat little gimmick
- still gets looks constantly since its a new design (maybe more than the S)...
- takes regular unleaded

Dislikes:
- Slow (duh, compared to S and RSX) It actually gets up and goes just fine.
- no leather (but the cloth is very high quality)
- too much body roll (need HFP suspension)
- stock tires suck balls
- can't see the hood at all from inside the car (kind of good and bad at the same time, but I loved looking at the hood from inside the S)
- stereo needs some different speakers, but what else is new with hondas...

As you can see most of the dislikes are easily solveable. All in all I'd say that I'm very happy with the car. I still like to romp around in the RSX from time to time to have some fun.

As far as gas mileage is concerned, I'm not sure yet. Here's my problem. I have a lead foot. I always did with the S and when I got the Civic that habit trasferred on to it. So to give you some perspective...

In the S, I drove 100% city miles, and averaged 16-17 mpg... horrible
In the Civic, driving 100% city miles, I am getting 26 mpg... horrible

The problem is me... lol

On my current tank of gas though, i have been making an effort to keep it on the low output cam and I am seeing a huge change in mileage, still have a ways to go, but it looks like I will end up in the 30's on this tank. I'll let you know.

The tank holds the same amount of gas as the S, so you can do the math on fill-ups, just use regular instead of premium for calcs.

All of my friends think its a great car. Comfortably fits 4 adults no problem. Finally my wife and I have a balance between our cars where we have one fun car, and one practical car that we can appreciate each for their strengths. And neither of us is put out by having to drive one or the other car. They are equals for their strengths, so it is working out very well.
Nice write-up!!

I'm kind of surprised at how many "looks" you get, but hey, that's cool!

All of your dislikes don't seem like negatives about the car, only things someone like one of us would notice because we drive cars that are very carefully engineered. Sounds like a great car!!

Yeah, the "looks" just have to do with it being a new model... people walk up to me in parking lots and start asking questions... its really funny.

And yeah, the dislikes are all relative things, related to my general desire to have a sporty car, and exaggerated by my previous ownership of the pinnacle of honda engineering. :shrugs:
