Can you really close a group drive if you've posted the date/time/meeting place? What if more show up? You try and lose them by driving really fast?

We have posted the date (since people who are signed up need to know what day the drive is), but have not posted either the time or meeting place. That information will be available only to those who signed up before the drive closed.

It is our intent to eliminate people just showing up to tag along.

I must've confused it with another thread, I could've sworn you had posted that info. Anywho, I'm moving to Portland right around that time but I am not sure exactly when, thought I would tag along if I could. Maybe next time

Hi Matthew,

We're sorry but the drive is closed. We capped the drive at 20 cars and it closed last month. We are also now limiting our drives to only our Oregon forum members .

Thanks!

Larry and Aaron

............

Just a reminder that if you are signed up for the Mt. St. Helens drive, I need your lunch order AND your $20 bill - per person.

Each participant was sent the lunch menu and instructions, so let's get those in!

Thanks! Larry

Dude that's over two months away. I hardly know what I want to eat tomorrow. Do we have a deadline or something?

We want to try and make sure the restaurant has ample time to prepare and that there is no last minute panics for getting the food orders in (on top of making sure that everyone going has made the financial commitment).

Like Larry said, last year we had a few people order but not show so we (he) got stuck with the tab on those. We also had a few show up that didnt sign up and that threw a wrench in it because the kitchen was already slammed getting the pre-ordered food cooked and then we added new orders to the mix.

So needless to say, the sooner the better.

This is the only real restaurant in the area and last year we completely overwhelmed their staff . They are not even used to a group HALF our size.

Holly crab cakes Larry!!! I had it in my purse a couple weeks ago when I came over, but forgot to give it to you. It's still in my purse, I'll mail it tomorrow.

Larry, let me know if someone cancels between now and then. Brenda and I are interested in joining this drive.
