Default taking a little trip this weekend...

hey boys, going to see the in-laws this weekend in medford. since the s2k has a spoon/berk niose issue the wife demands we take the TSX on longer trips. so if you see a black TSX slammed on the stock wheels wave, honk, throw the flashers on you.....dont worry its your bud versionJDM!!

on a side note, its always an interesting drive to medford...last time we took the TSX down i got into a little bit of a battle with a EP si. the TSX is stock, its just lowered and awaiting $ for a DCRH and exhaust. oh, ya, its a auto too! so anyway, i am cruising along doing 80-85 and a Si creeps up next to me. now the wifes out, its mid-nite and i see no headlites anywhere. so i figure lets see what the ol TSX will do. i slap the shifter over the "M" mode and downshift as many gears as it will let me. we take off and to my suprise the TSX pulls the si about a car to car and a half up to 130 or so. not bad.

anyway....maybe i'll see some of ya passing through!

Dont those cars have the same engine?

Or is yours a K24 vs K20 in the SI? Not bad, good job. I always thought my buddies 05 manual TSX was slow as shit, but soooo comfortable, luxurious, elegant, and convenient. Fully loaded.

I WOULD BUT I REALLY LIKE THE WARRANTY! I MIGHT TAKE MY VAFC OFF MY S AND USE IT ON THE TSX, IT DOES AFTER ALL ONLY HAVE 700RPM OF VTEC FROM THE FACTORY. THATS RITE, VTEC HITS AT 6400 AND SHE REDLINES AT 7100!!
IREALLY WANT TO LOWER VTEC!!! I CAN TELL TOO THAT IT RUNS RICH AS HELL BUT, IT IS THE "WIFES" CAR!

Hey, I corrected myself before I hit submit. I didn't have the fancy codes at the end... But it's okay. Both engines are underpowered and the cars are overweight, respectively.
The only honda engine I care 2 sh*ts about is the F20c, and maybe the F22.

its all good wyatt, jp.

Version: yeah VTEC is pretty retarded on the TSX, you don't even get a grand of rpm and w/I-VTEC you can't really feel it anyways... not to mention that slushbox thats robbing you blind.

I am a big fan of how the TSX looks, and its features, but its engine is severly underpowered for the size/weight of the car. I think that they should have put the V6 thats in the Accord in that thing. It would be so kick ass then. 210tq / 244hp plenty of getup for that lux sedan... I think they were just afraid that it would step on the TL's toes.

i broke our tsx in hard, i think that actually helped. for example. it runs 16.1's and from a roll, i've beat a stock 00 si and and a h23 prelude. it moves decent for what it is. remember the k24 responds to mods just as well as the k20!

of course it does, I'm just saying that "from the factory" it is underpowered, I know all about the modability. My wife drives a RSX Type-S and we plan on doing the hondata reflash, and hopefully a CAI down the road. Hooray for a cheap 25hp and a large bump in torque across the whole band....lol.

With the hondata reflash the K20A2 makes the same torque as the F22C1 from idle until 6000rpm... just think about how much more low end the S2k would have with I-VTEC... but then it wouldn't be as fun to drive.

Thats cool that you're going race header, those make lots of power... good stuff. The reflashes are supposed to be dealer compatible. but yeah sounds like you're doing fairly well for an auto TSX, the ones that I've driven were just slow as poo.

IT WAS BETWEEN THE TSX AND A 325I, AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT THE TSX HAD MORE SCOOT!
