Tire rubbing question
My 225s in the front rubbed a lot during the recent Astoria trip. The wheels are 17x7 +49 & 17x8 +49 (car lowered 1"). The rear 255s are fine. Love the extra grip up front and the new tires overall (Dunlop Direzza Star Specs). I was planning to remove the fender liner first but wanted to hear your opinion, would you do that or roll fenders?

hey abhi,
you can fix it by running a little more camber, going with stiffer suspension, or trimming the liner. i dont recommend removing the liner, you will get rocks, dirt and all sorts of grime into your engine bay and fender well (my own experience).

If i remember right you are on the eibach springs? If so your probably a quarter inch higher all around than I am. I spent a year trying to dial out rubbing in the front on a 17x7.5 +48 ( a safe fitment). In the end I ran 1.5 deg camber up front and left it at that. It still rubbed and knocked out the fender liner clips, all i can figure is that a 225 is hard to run up front when lowered. Ive even heard some guys rubbing the liner on stock wheels with 225s.
You could deffinatly get a roll, but i doubt its bad enough to worry about, Id just let it rub a hole in the liner. Thats what mine have done, and they no longer rub on anything now. When i look at it closely, even though its rubbing the liner its at a spot that is almost half and inch from the fender itself.
Some people even cut out spots of the liner.
