Default Tire Shop

Hello all

I need to buy some tires but I was wondering what people experiences have been with the local shops. Here is what I'm looking at so far.

1. BigOTires
2. Les Schawb
3. Discount Tires

Are there other places that people have had good luck with? A place with great service and price.

Yes. You should check out the Tire Rack.

They have great prices on all the tire brands, know what is needed for the S2000 and will ship to any installation shop you specify.

Tire Rack is an S2KI sponsor: http://www.tirerack.com/

Yes. They have arrangements with many of the local tire companies. They are huge and everyone is used to doing the instal work for tires bought through the Tire Rack.

I've had great luck with Discount, they almost always have the size I need in stock and at the lowest price I can find (w/o the road hazzard warranty) of course I stick to cheap Kumho's and don't drive aggressively... if you have a particular tire in mind Tirerack may be the way to go.

Buy locally! Les Schwab's a great Oregon company, has superb customer service and you can ask them to match Tire Rack's prices.

I've had good luck with Discount/American tires. I've also ordered tires from Tirerack before and everything went smoothly. Either way there's no disappointment. If you're looking for Toyo's I pretty sure neither companies carry them. Les Scwab is the only place that carries them. BTW Les Schwab tends to be expensive in my opinion.

Yah, Scwab will match prices, problem is they only carry expensive brands/models of tires. Since the honda eats tires so quickly and I commute with it... it's hard to pass up $120 tires like Kumhos. But for a Toyo, Schwab will certainly take good care of you. One of the few businesses that really come to mind as being "customer first"

I've always used Les Schwab, and had good experiences. Though last time, I think they scratched my rim, but not 100% sure. Going to try the Tirerack route for my next set of tires and see how that works. Good to know they'll price match though, may come in handy later.

BTW, did you see that post on the main page where a Les Schwab in Utah wrecked an owners ride?

If you have any question at all about Les Schwab scratching your wheel you should tell them about it.

As most of you know I just had my wheels powdercoated along with my lugs. When I had them mount the tires I asked them to be careful with the lugs because powdercoated lugs scratch very easily when mounting.

They ended up scratching one of my wheels and two of my lugs were in pretty bad shape. The guy I asked to be careful said he would personally do the mount on my wheels. For some reason another guy did them and messed them up. I told them two days later about this and they paid to have the powder resprayed

I did hear about that incident in Utah but you can't really blame them for this happening. The only time you can blame them is if they don't fix what they broke. Les Schwab always corrects their mistakes in my experience
