Default Today's drive

So yesterday I sat around all day, enjoyed my weekend and after a big enough guilt trip from my friend, I washed, finally clayed both the car and the wheels, and threw some wax down on the S. Today, had nothing on deck so the same friend said "hey, let's go for a drive!"

Seemed like a good enough idea with a nice clean car, so down went the top, and we proceeded to terrorise the WA14, OR30 and I84 corridors with the echoes of Invidia for a few hours.

Went SR14, across Bridge of the Gods, then came back 30 past Multnomah Falls, Crown Point and then detoured up Larch Mountain before coming down around Corbett, and in on 84.

30 was a traffic jam, we were lucky to break 30mph. Stopped at Vista House, got some pictures. Until today, i never knew it had a downstairs! After we left there, we decided to bomb up Larch to burn off the traffic frustration. All the signs up Larch kept saying "Snow Line! Road closed in 6 miles!" My friend and I laughed at them.

"Oh noes! We'll never make it out alive!" "That car must be stuck in the snow!" "Should we call for a search party?"

Up the mountain we went. Left, right. Right, left. Third gear, 4th gear, downshift, downshift, 3rd gear, on and on all the way up the hill, exhaust echoing off the hillside.

...and then we came around a corner.... and smack dab into a bunch of cars who couldn't go any higher because the snow was stopping us! Surprised the hell out of me, i tell ya what. Took some pics, and headed back. All in all, a fun way to blow 100 miles worth of gas, and a GORGEOUS day to do it on.
