What has S2ki provided for you?
When I first decided to get a fun car, I had a long list and started trimming it down based on cost, maintenance, driving behavior of the car, etc. I found the site from a link in another site when I was researching the S2000. I looked up facts and specs on the car to determine what year I wanted.
What I expected from the site was a place to get information and become more knowledgeable about the car. I went on my first drive in April 2008. This was supposed to be the Mt. Hood drive, but due to late spring snow, the drive was changed to Parkdale via the Historic Hwy. After an amazing day with some great people I signed onto S2ki and signed up for every drive. It only took one drive and I was hooked on this group, not a club.

Fast forward 2+ years . What has the site provided to me?
• I have spend sunny days with you carving up back roads with as many as 36 identical cars
• driven in the snow with the top down – twice
• visited North America’s deepest lake

• visited North America’s largest dam (not associated with above noted lake)

• visited 3 states with you
• cleaned cars with you

• changed parts with you
• gotten gas with you many many times
• watched movies with you
• eaten meals with you

• watched Super Bowls with you
• played video games with you
• planned events and vacation around our drive schedule
• spend holidays with you and your family
All of these were unexpected bonuses from a website. What wonderful gifts this car has given me.
I have what I consider my extended family.

memories! Yes, what a great group this has been. Only met up with you fine folks once tho.
Nice DAY trip to Amy's place for a fun car wash. 590 miles (round trip) is deff the farthest I've ever gone to wash a car. lol. Great fun as I expected and learned lots! I think I left at 4 in the morn got home at 11 or so that night lol!
always great fun chatting it up in the forums. (and up to 3 or 4 random talks at once! that kept me and evan busy! lol)
Hugs to you all!
I want my S back! haha I don't think my dad's put more that 200 miles on her in the year or so he's had it. haha DD to garage queen.
Ahh I love reminiscing.
Before I got the S I was never much of a joiner. While I had my celica, I lurked on the NewCelica forums, but never signed up or posted there.
I signed up for S2ki and actually got involved on the forums. I didn't come to the Portland forum for a long time (didn't know where it was) but eventually found my way here and decided to take the plunge and join a drive. Missed the very first one that year (Lincoln City) but made the second one (Maryhill/Stonehenge).
That first drive was the best experience I had ever had, cruising down the highway with 20+ lookalikes.

Taking over both lanes of a highway

The looks we'd get when we pulled into the parking lots of places

And getting to try some unusual and interesting roads.

I was hooked. It was also the first time I'd ever driven the Historic Highway which was a tremendous experience getting to follow Doug over it since I didn't know it at all. It was also my first drive and yet Brandon threw me out in front to lead the group down I84 from Stonehenge to the Historic Highway....Not the best idea since I didn't know the proper way to lead a group yet and we got so spread out that while I was doing my usual 65-70 in a 55, people further back were having to go a *little bit* faster that that to try and catch up
Remember, Doug?

E and I moved to the northwest because we wanted to explore the area. But unfortunately we're often lazy and don't take advantage of all our opportunities. The organized drives help force us into obtaining our original goal. There are so many things we've seen out here that we otherwise would not have even known about. It's been great and we are very thankful to have Larry and Aaron planning events to see this beautiful place.
EDIT: Oh, and we've met some cool people too.
