It was my first RWD too. Before the S, I had a Celica, and an Escort before that. I drove through anything with siped all seasons on those, but the S has to have proper snow tires. It makes all the difference.

It's pretty incredible how well it does. You do have to baby it a little, and there are some situations you simply have to go out of your way to avoid (stop sign on a side-sloped curve...ask me how I know)

Besides that, it drives nearly as well as any FWD I've owned

As odd as it sounds, I keep wishing it would snow more here. The weather people keep saying it will but it wont.
How the heck and I supposed to go play in parking lots with no snow

I would not advise trying to drive the S in snow on the stock RE050 tires. Last year I drove to work in the morning with no snow on the roads and by the time 5 o'clock rolled around there was about 3 inches of fresh snow on the ground. I live 4 miles from work and it took me 45 minutes to get home. If I gave it any gas at all I would get sideways so I just let the car roll at 5mph the whole way home That is until I got into my cul-de-sac then the fun began

I took mine out last night. It was a nice drive. I went 50 miles and didn't go anywhere. It was 28 degrees when I left, but you know the top was down.

FYI you shouldn't operate your roof when it's below freezing as it can damage your top. If you keep your car in a warm garage I don't see any cause for concern.
