Woke up and my soft top was ripped. They only took my shifter knob. But damn. Y go through all dis trouble for 20 dollars. I could have gave dem 20 if they asked me. Here comes the bills

Dang, that sucks. I am so glad I have a garage. I cringe whenever I have to leave her out in the driveway.

Unless you have a dual proximity alarm already installed, I think the first step in theft deterrent is an alarm. Seat locks are also good. Then, a hardtop is a good choice. This way you have an alarm to protect your hardtop.

Just my opinion.

I did seat locks right after I got the car. I almost shelled out some big $$ for a full alarm on my truck after it got broken into.

I'm not sure what your current level of insurance coverage and deductible is, but it would be a good idea to have comprehensive with a $100 deductible so that is all you'll have to pay if your top gets slashed again. Good luck finding an OEM hardtop for $1,500, they tend to go for $2,500-$3,500. You can buy a Mugen replica for about $1,500 though.
