How do you like living in Orlando?
Hey guys, I'm Chris. I'm 27 and from Long Island and have lived there pretty much my whole life. I've recently accepted the fact that I hate living here. Unfriendly people, too expensive and not very pretty. Did I mention the horrible blizzards we had two winters ago?
I love being outdoors and enjoying the weather and life and that's pretty tough to do here most of the year. My girlfriend is from there and wants me to get an apartment with her there. It's incredible how much further your dollar can go and what you get. I've seen some gorgeous place for a fraction of what a crappy apartment can run you here and they are much newer.
It'll be a huge step for me in my life to just up and move. I'm actually going down there in June for a little over a week and am very excited since I haven't had a vacation in quite some time. The cons are obviously leaving all of my friends and family behind, so it'll be me, my girl and my s2k.
So I was curious as to how you guys like living there and also what fun things I can do with my S if/when I move there. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I honestly can't wait to move out of FL lol. Like ^ said every part of Orlando has different pros and cons. Get a hard top before you move down here if you cant get a place with a garage. I guess like you, I've lived here my whole life and I cant wait to leave Florida.
with the exception of the swealtering heat in the summer, and the countless rainy days we have
Orlando really isnt that bad.
I am a native, but i think you can keep yourself occupied in Orlando.
we dont have the best roads to drive spirited on, but we do have a few hidden gems.
A lot of people in the area are from upstate, so it shouldnt be that hard of a transition for you, IF you make your way down here.

I just moved to Orlando with my gf 8 months ago ... but, it was only a move from a smaller city in Florida.
I was born and raised in Florida my whole life ... but, have traveled the country a bit and especially the north east. The lifestyle is definitely more relaxed here but the culture is a crazy mix of locals, retirees, and especially tourists. Lots of spanish influences (which I love) and so much to do considering all the theme parks. But, more than anything else ... Orlando is nicely located in the center of the state which makes trips to either coast (Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Naples, St.Petersburg, Clearwater, Tampa, and even Destin/Pensacola, etc.) only a few hours ... and is exactly what the S2000 is meant for
I'd say take a little adventure on with your gf and move down for a bit. With so many friends and family back in New York I'm certain you'd find a way to move back if it didn't work out here. But, if you do make it work down here I'm also willing to bet your friends and family wouldn't mind visiting you here either
Good luck figuring it all out. Feel free to PM me for any other info ...
