Default Test drive?

Hey all,

I wanted to reach out to the local s2k community to find out if anybody was running a low boost SOS Stage 1 (~300 whp) or high boost Kraftwerks Stage 2 (~400 whp), preferably an AP2. And if so, if we could meet for a responsible test drive.

The reason why I ask is I'm undecided on to boost, or not to boost, simply put. As per my signature, my '05 just recently has the upgraded ACT setup and it feels like a different car now... not for the better, likely because I'm not use to the stiffer pedal yet. And so, that makes me hesitate to do any more mods of that nature especially on the CR.

My driving style is definitely on the softer side where I'll only VTEC 2-3 times month. Never launching, rarely entertain any races (but I've been so tempted with the 86/BRZ folks), highway ramp pulls. The only spirited part of my style are the rev matching and turns.

Whoever is willing to meet, you can test drive my CR, if requested! Thanks all!

Why would you want to supercharge a car that you don't drive to it's minimum level of performance now? Only VTEC a couple dozen times a year? VTEC is where the power is. Putting a supercharger on the car will give you the same, lame result if you drive like grandma or the olde fuel economy runs.

Lowering VTEC to the 3600rpm level (exhaust modification and FlashPro tune) will give you lots more midrange power -- but it will be difficult to remain on the economy cam with it set this low.

Well, I don't VTEC it as much because I don't want the attention it grabs afterwards. Then, you have cars wanting to challenge you especially in the CR where it's power don't match its looks. I understand people will disagree with that statement, but I've had my CR new and there are countless times where I've wanted to do a run, and 200 whp isn't going to cut it. It sucks watching a G37 or 328-330i pull away even after shifting well. Or a boosted Civic/any car egg you on, and you know your stock engine wouldn't make it past 2nd gear when you see them ahead already.

I get the other side of the situation that the car isn't for drag, learn the car as is, be a better driver, etc., but I believe a lot of us wouldn't mind the extra oompf under our foot that can allow us to feel more confident to hold our own.

I'm confident that feeling out a boosted S will give me a definitive answer though. Sorry, I tried not to rant, I appreciate the advice to flash it instead.
