Default These tires ain't pretty

Well, I always dreaded the day that I was going to have to trust someone to correctly mount tires on my wheels. This is because of a mishap a couple of years ago. So, here I sit until Monday, when the TireRack delivery arrives.

Three nights ago, when I was driving over the 408 in heavy rain, I didn't feel that safe, but the car still held the road nice at 70 mph. So here's what I got:

When was the last time you seen threads like that?........Nevermind, don't answer!

I found that their is a guy on OrlandoForums that goes by the screen name of 3GwithVolks (real name Ryan) that has worked at Tire Kingdom in Altamonte Springs for a few years and is highly recommended and knows what he is doing.

I'll reply with my satisfaction on Tuesday.

BTW i'm sticking with 255/40R-17 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Positions and will get an alignment.

Thanks,
They are Volk CE-28n's. The finish is a special order color called mercury silver. The fronts are 17 X 7.5 (+50) and the rears are 17 X 9 (+63). Since they are are forged alloy the fronts weigh in at a mere 13.8 lbs. and the rears weigh in at 14.8 lbs. The lugs are Ray's Duraluminum lugs that are .8 oz. each.

Since I switched to nights, I haven't been making any meets. I was really excited about going to Speedy's Saturday Sonic meet last night but discovered that my threads were showing on Friday morning. That's when I ordered new rear tires. I knew they were bald but that is ridiculous! And embarrassing.

I have spoken to a couple of other members concerning wheel mounting and they shared my concerns. Hopefully this guy is good. From what I hear, I will be able to sleep okay tonight.

See Ya whenever,

I like TireRack. I placed my order at 11:30 am on Friday. By 2:30 p.m. I had my shipping confirmation. They will arrive around noon on Monday. My fronts are still good. Next time I may go with Yokohama, but I still like the Potenzas. The tires need to be reverse mounted on my rims. RZ Motoring correctly mounted them last time but they are now out of business.

When those slicks were cold, the ride was rough. I am really going to be noticing the difference with a tread!!!

The verdict is in and I couldn't be happier. It is quite a relief to know that there is a tire tech out there that is a pro.

Ryan used to work for an Infinity dealership and now has a clientele of Infinity owners that bring their cars to him for tire replacement, mounting and balancing.

He used protective cloths and treated my Volks as if they were his own. (He also uses Volks).

I highly recommend Ryan @ Tire Kingdom in Altamonte Spgs. for anyone who is cautious about the care of their wheels.

I didn't know they were as bad as they were. I knew that I had to get them replaced around tax return time, but with all the running around Central Florida looking for a car for my son, the past couple of weeks ate them up. I really can't believe that on Thursday night when there was a couple of inches of rain on the 408, that they didn't spin out from under me. It was the next morning, Friday, that I was shocked to see how bad they were.
