Wink First Weekend on the Road

What a great weekend to drive. The "new" car feeling every year is definitely something to look forward to every year. My short time tooling around, and already an almost a full year of stereotypical mini-incidents have already happened. Also some spring time observations too.

- Smiles from various people out for a walk. Forget groundhogs, when the crazies start driving their Triumphs, Miatas and S2000s top down, that's the sure sign of spring.

- Had 2 groups of kids yelling "nice car".

- Had a sh!tbox, dented up, fart can equiped Integra revved on me.

- RWD is gooood. And screwing up at low speed around a traffic circle rather than at high speed is better!

- Frost heaves in road are still pretty big. Never had my CD skip before.

- Shifting and heel-toe downshifting is so sweet on this car.

- A lot of top down sunshine makes you happy and then sleepy.

I got out of the garage and then back in, I setup in my cg-lock and buckled myself in really tight, sure felt nice then I did the ricer reverse and reved it and back into the garage. I want the rain just a little rain to clear the roads, although they aren't too bad. Suppose to rain next weekend which should be the sure sign. Had a few stares from passer-byers

Although I didn't take the car out, I did walk from my place down to the market and back today. Lots of people out and about and lots of bikers enjoying the sunny day as well.

I know what you mean Steve. It's nice to have that giddy feeling of having a first drive again and looking forward to going for drives. It's like going back to "16" all over again when you look forward to driving each springtime.

I should have the car out in a few weeks. Depending on the weather plus I'll be in and out of town quite a bit the next while.

I was out today for the first time this year with the S. Drove around enough to rack up just over 100km's, this is a big deal for me since I hardly drove it last summer. I had similar reactions to what Steve described, a ton of looks, kids yelling out "nice car!".

Steve - you wouldn't happened to have been cruising on Bronson Ave. around 3pm Saturday? I saw a Berlina, top down, and I believe they had a passenger with them? Thought it may have been you.

Oh SNAP!

Took her out

Things I noticed.

Damn the seats are tight
The car is LOUD, louder than my Subaru which is loud compared to any new car I have driven lately.
It is rough as all hell, like driving on bricks.
Power is nice to have again, Oh the POWER!

Is it ever low, came up behind a camry and all I saw was his bumper

I'm driving it tomorrow to the Fit event haha, and oh my drivers side window auto down is officially busted. I'll bring it to Gatineau Honda since I'll be in the area and let them see, hopefully it is covered by the extended warranty if it is not then I won't bother.

When you are at the Fit event make sure you tell them that you are there to confirm that you will be downsizing to a Fit. The Fit meeds your needs for autocross and let them know how dissatisfied you have been with the S!

Maybe you want to go in the S to show them you mean business!

Took the car out for a drive tonight.

Installed the new abttery and it started like I drove it yesterday!

Went for a nice little drive on my regular summer nightly route!

Boy is it ever nice to drive it again!

Out yesterday :-) Yep, still feels good.

So when are we doing wings and beer to kickoff the season?

Anytime is good for me. Who wants to do it sometime this week? I think that's a good idea there Don!
