Hello I live in the boonies of Lucknow Ont. and purchased a 2007 S2000 , my closest city is Kitchener , London or Owen Sound . I'm looking for a qualified mechanic close by that can work on the car as I read some members are consered about valve retainers . Welcome Doug, you may live a little far away from Ottawa to travel to see a mechanic. There are plenty in the London area and more in the Toronto area. Good luck with your search.

You most likely will not have issues with your retainers as most cracked retainers were discovered in the AP1. Have a valve adjustment and retainer inspection done by someone who knows the engine well and you should be good to go. Try not to mis-downshift, mis-upshift at high RPM or over-rev your car and you should have no problems.
