Default $1200.00 Speeding Tickets!!

I read in the Vancouver Province (Sunday June 23rd) that the Provincial Government is changing the excessive speed fines to $1200.00 for people who exceed the posted speed limit by 50km/hour. Yikes!

Man I can do 50km/hour over the posted limit with a small slip of the foot!!!

Give me another reason to install a PIT speed limiter.

It'll be a true F1 car.

Speaking of tickets, I had my court date today, and unfortunately, the cop showed up.

So I pleaded guilty and the judge was super nice about it. She extended my payment due till Sept. 30 and knocked down the price to $100 from the already minimum speeding ticket amount of $115.

I got another court date coming up, but they still haven't mailed me my notice...oh well, the saga continues...

Sounds like they are trying to make up for a revenue shortage.

The government claims it is an attempt to reduce street racing. I am a little suspicious though, because they have already passed a law allowing the police to seize the cars of suspected street racers.

Didn't read that far... I was too busy trying to pick my jaw up off the floor after reading the amount.
