180 spinout on the 520...That was me!!!!
It was another one of those late work nights tonight. I was stupid enough to think that I could make it home from Pioneer Square to my home in Kirkland in the snow. After all, aren't S02s known to be great snow tires?
Anyways, I first got stuck in the middle of the 520 bridge. Yes, in the middle! What a butthead. I got a lot of stares as people drove by. They must have been thinking, wow, what a hot car!
A state trooper finally pulled up and offered to "push" my car up the bridge with her patrol car. I glanced at the battering rams in front of her bumper and had visions of the TV show Cops (you know, when they use their bumpers to knock criminals off the road?). As luck would have it, several salt spraying trucks drove by and I was able to drive up the bridge without a problem. But wait, it doesn't end there...
As I was cruising along the 520, I let out a sigh of relief, the worst was over, right? Hell no! Just then, I did a 180! I tried to counter steer, remembering what I learned from my limited experience at the track. Luckily, I didn't hit anything but ended up facing oncoming traffic (don't worry, everyone was driving real slow). Again, I got a lot of stares as people drove by. I guess they were still thinking, wow, what a hot car!
I managed to drive to the side of the road and parked bumper to bumper with an abandoned BMW 330i. Remembering what I read in my manual, I called for a flat bed truck, paid $150 and had it towed to my office in Kirkland (that's where I am right now).
Needless to say, I'm never going to drive my S2000 in the snow again! I guess I had a monentary lapse of sanity tonight (I'm not usually this dumb!).

AlgaeHater: I know exactly what you felt 'cept I was lucky and made it home. Sometimes it takes one of these high sphincter ordeals to slap some of the "stupid" out of us.
(I have snow tires but I just didn't put them on early enough.)

I've got enough of the stoopid left in me that I drove to work today - hey the sun's out, perfect top down weather!
The only reall iffy part was on the side streets near work, and especially the driveway and parking lot. We'll see if I regret it tonight when I try to get home...
If I lived on one of the hills, I'd leave the S2000 at home for sure, though.
