Default Anyone here ever replaced a softtop?

The tears are becoming a little more noticeable now, so I am going to start researching on top replacements. I have a plastic window now, and will probably be looking to go to glass.

I just wanted to see if anyone has done this...either through the dealership or done it themselves. And perhaps some things I should be looking for.

Thanks.

See here for an aftermarket replacement. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=448840

The shop manual covers it step by step.

I'm in the middle of replacing mine (waiting for some clips I broke). It's not too hard so far, but I still have to put the new one on.

Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss.

Fantastic! I was just searching through the site and found that and was going to post it up here. But thank you!

I'll read through that.

Yeah, the link "Thistler" put up is a good representation of how to replace the top. You can order a Robbins Soft Top through their website or even find a used one in the classifieds or ebay.

I am going to replace mine in the summer because I have also split my window in half dropping the top down when its cold. =(

Let me know if you decide to change your soft top before the summer, I will be willing to lend a hand or two!

I installed a robbins glasswindow last summer. Hated every minute of it, but it went in just fine at the end of the day.

The only real sticking point was that they didn't give me enough rivets and things didn't align right, but it looks good now.

I just got mine back from Honda of Smellvue last night from its second top replacement. They origionally did a 50/50 customer goodwill split for me but replaced it free the second time since it was in parts warranty. It takes a little time for them to do it though...

not to change subject, but has anyone bought the modifry bands for the soft top? I felt around and noticed that my stock ones are really saggy. I just don't know if it's work $20 + shipping.

Yeah. I have a set. Pulled 'em when I got my new top. I think my top frame is just stiff, these did nothing for me... but neither did the fresh straps in my new top either.

Make it worth my time to mail them and i'll send 'em out.
