Carrera GT
I spent the past weekend in Vancouver BC, visiting with family. My cousin was in town, and offered to show me his latest automotive acquisition, a black Carrera GT.
I met up with him at about 11:30pm on Saturday night. His car is garaged in a pretty quiet residential neighborhood. Although the CGT is an amazing sounding car, I imagine his neighbors were not too appreciative of the 10 minutes or so of idling getting the fluid temps up.
My cousin's driveway has the very slightest gradient and a 2 inch curb lip at its lowest point. However, the front end still audibly scraped even backing out at crawl speed. This sucker is low.
Once off the driveway and on the street, I climbed into the passenger seat. The interior is all business. It has the right balance, neither feeling race car naked or luxury car fat. During the first few blocks, I noticed that the ride was firm but not severely harsh. At low speeds and modest throttle openings transmission noise was very prominent. Then we got onto a decent stretch of straight tarmac and pulled away from the light briskly. The glorious engine music took over from the transmission whine. It was foot to the floor in third gear from 3000rpm to 7000rpm. This was enough to convince me that I was riding in one of the very quickest cars in the world, and certainly one of the best sounding.
A few miles down the road, we pulled into an empty car park. It was now my chance to get into the driver

Walter is one level-headed guy that I listen to when he speaks about anything automotive.
Lovely write-up. You should apply for an Evo job.
Amazing car for sure.
In between shifts, did you have to shift really really quickly to match revs since that enginetranny combo revs so quickly/freely?
I heard also when you turn off that car it's like no residual noises. Just brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr(silence).

Wow that is truly amazing. As WRS2K knows (;D), I LOVE that car!! Is it Seal Grey?? Because I saw a Seal Grey pass me on I-405 about a week back ... good chance it was him.
I would give just about anything for that car ...
