I believe that unsecured egress is required for fire code compliance. The code will also require two or more exits depending upon the size of the structure. That doesn't mean the exits have to be an entry though. Night clubs are a great example, they have one-way secured fire exits for exactly this reason.

I used to live at Belltown. Until they put security cameras in, car prowls were a daily occurance in the parking garage. The HOA paid to have a security guard on premise 24/7, so it wasn't too much extra effort to monitor the additional screens. The car prowls stopped almost overnight.

You must have forgot about my career before computers. Besides, building codes vary by municipality so its pretty difficult to be specific, without having a specific address. Makes it kinda hard to look up if you get my drift.

i posted this else where...but what about pulling the fuse that resets the ECU?

I know...I know...if they wanted the car bad enough they'd steal it. But at least it's one step harder, no?
