I knew that if I took it too slowly I'd get stuck on the hill, so I made sure to follow the previous cars' tire tracks and take the turn at a whopping 20 mph. Sure enough as I'm near the top of the hill (by this point going maybe 10 mph), the rear of the car slides out & JUST DOESN'T STOP. The car went almost 180 degrees around, and stopped less than 2 feet from the curb on the inside of the turn.
This EXACT (sort of) thing happened to me last year. Mine was a sweeping left, and I tagged the curb, but I know exactly what you mean. The wierd thing was the suddenness at which it happened, no warning, just gone. No more snow driving for me, I take the old ladies car in the snow now. And for those that think the new traction control is for pussies, I'd have gladly been one at that time and pocketed the repair money..

So get this.. It starts snowing like mad at 5:45pm...my wife's Lexus stops moving in the road on the way home, she was like 1/8 miles from our street ..so a nice person decides to "help" he ties a rope to the front of the car.....where???....to the TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE!! ...how stupid can someone be?...does it seem like it would take a brain surgeon to think that attaching a rope to a rubber hose under a car for the purpose of pulling it would be a bad idea??? maybe I just expect too much from the standard human..so then she lets the car run to keep the kids warm till I get there and pumps all the trans fluid out on the ground, so now there is a good possibility that the trans is destroyed....Merry christmas to me!! my kids will love opening a new transmission on christmas morning

Sorry just needed to vent...but man how stupid can you be...attach a rope to a rubber hose to tow a car?...even my 6 year old knew that was dumb.
