Default Drivers Skills day

Is anyone else going to this? I registered already, I just wanted to see if there was anyone else here that was going.

actually i should ask more specific questions...

are s2000's allowed as last i heard they were thinking of banning them due to their roll bar locations.

can you run with the top down or should i just bring my hard top?

as for helmits, can i use a motorcycle one? if not what "rating" should i look for in the helmit? also can anyone suggest brands? and please remember im on a somewhat tight budget. Thanks

Read the 2008 Track Info at the top of this forum. But yes, you have to be a member of a club. Not necessarily PCA, though.

PCA allows S2000s.

So Mike, can I just register and pay for an SCCA membership, and I'm good to go?

Has nothing to do with SCCA. You have to be a member of one of the local marque clubs. BMW club. Alfa club. Porsche club. Viper club. Corvette club. Audi club.

It's the Porsche club that is putting on this school, but any of the clubs will do.

I don't think the PCA (Porsche club) actually checks with the other clubs, so you could try just saying you are a member of one of the others. But I could be wrong.

BMWCCA membership is cheaper than NWARC (Alfa club), and it also lets you go to the BMW schools in Spokane (but not the local ones). You need to supply a Porsche VIN to join the Porsche club.

I know when I registered, I had to say which club I was part of. But it didn't ask for a member number or anything.

I joined the BMWCCA club.

So in that light, I would need to own a Porche, BMW, Alpha, Corvette, etc?

Nope. I think only the Porsche club are you required to provide a valid vin. I don't have a bmw, but I was able to join.
