Default headlight aiming

I was surprised at how easy it turned out to be to adjust the headlights. The only adjustment is up or down. It's pretty much impossible to do unless you have a really long (12 inches) number 2 phillips head screwdriver, but once you get your hands on one it's a snap.

I just drove to the parking garage at my office with the long screwdriver and a tape measure. Park the car 25 feet away from a wall, measure the height of the center of the headlight lens (about 23 inches), and then measure the height of the cutoff on the wall (in my case 18 inches or less).

Put something over one light so you see each light pattern separately. Then put the screwdriver through a small hole in the engine well that reaches down to the adjustment bolt. There is a small toothed wheel, which you just turn with the screwdriver. Turn it until the beam on the wall is about two inches lower than the height of the headlight (about 21 inches). Do this for both lights and you are done.

It helps to have a flashlight to shine on the back of the headlight assembly so you can see the small toothed wheel.

No, I just went to the hardware store and bought one. Less than $6, including tax.
