about the warranty though, it would be nice, but it one is close to being out of its warranty it doesnt bother me too much

 

what are some kind of questions i should ask if i decide to buy a s2k through a private party.

How often was maintanence done?
Does the top leak or have high wear?

what else?

 

You can ask 'em that stuff, but there's obviously no guarantee they will tell you the truth. Ask them who did the service, and ask for records.

Check this site against the VIN to find out if the car was subject to any safety recalls (eg. the spark plug recall) and make sure they had those done. And have the car inspected by a mechanic who knows sports cars, or better yet S2000s.
