How many motorcycle riders here?
I know there is a few riders in the club here, and now that the summer heat is winding down I thought it would be fun to put the car down for the afternoon and blow the dust off the bike. I personally ride a 04 KTM 250exc 2 stroke which I converted to a street legal supermoto. Its unique for a street bike, it rips and is a hell of a lot of fun. Last year I rode over to Leavenworth and been up to Bellingham several times and of course the frequent squirts locally around Carnation/Fall city areas. I just pack enough pre mix with me and ready to rock! Chime in with what you got and if you want to meet up for a ride. Id say basic requirement would be having a full size bike that can easily do freeway speeds.
Some nice scenery out there and hwy 9 is pretty fun.
I'm almost set on one of the older cbr600rr's could potentially be something I could learn on. I figured I'd grow out of a 250cc quickly and a 600 would be just fine if I respect the power. Now if NA received the Honda cbr250rr with the I4 and like 18k redline, I would be all over that, but unfortunately we never got that. If you have any suggestions, that would be awesome!

Some would say a 600 is too much to learn on and some don’t. But if you’re confident enough in your learning ability, I don’t see why it couldn’t be a good option. I typically like naked sport bikes, twins especially. Suzuki SV650 is probably considered a better beginner intermediate bike. It’s nice looking inmop, inexpensive, a bit easier to work on, makes nice power for its size and is a real carver. Many advanced riders still have fun on those. The KTM390 would be sweet if you had that kind of money to play with. And then of course what I ride, which is just a re geared dirt bike with 17" sport bike wheel set and tires. (supermotard) 2 stroke syle
