Default Import Auto World. Tacoma

So a friend of mine is looking for an S2000. We saw one on craigslist at import auto world in Tacoma. After calling without getting an answer we drove out to find the s2000 was sold but they have an 03 with 70k miles and a "clean title" all for 10k? but he says we shoulda have called first cause his brother has it. After telling him we tried he says "oh I don't usually answer my phone during the day"

Long story short
anybody have experience with them?
Would it be worth driving back out tomorrow. Just seems odd they are selling a car 5k under blue book

i have personal experience from that place. i dont recommend anyone buying anything from that place. the car is a good deal but u should consider doing a carfax before buying it. all the car there are usually rebuild or salvage.

dont do a carfax it can have lag time. take down the vin and call the local department of licensing. they can run it and let you know if tehres a current brand of any sort on the car.

and their cars look so shady. i wouldnt even have bothered going there

Car fax's and Dept of licensing don't do shit.

Get the car inspected by someone who knows what to look for.

I've performed inspections for out of town buyers for the last five years. Tacoma is a little out of my area though. If the car finds it's way to Bellevue I'll take a gander.

Okay let me give you the low down. My buddy Clint has worked there and Ive known people who have gotten cars from there.

First) Guys are russian and get most of their cars in shady ways or the motors.
Second) Clint installed a lot of motors and set ups in the cars there and told me that they got him to just throw things together.
Third) Have a buddy of me and Clints who bought a Impreza WRX STI....literally it was welded together by honda world aka import auto world. Front was a rear ended STI and rear was a front smashed WRX!!!!
Fourth) Dirty historys, even if the carfax is clean doesnt mean that it is.

I just would honestly stay away. All they are good for are like shady deals on rare items they come across. Like bride seats or motor swaps. Even still though, becareful.
