[QUOTE=ksdaoski,May 5 2005, 11:33 AM]Have some understanding of the position and the industry youre getting into, and ask lots of questions about both.

Make sure you know current events and news in Boeing.
Here's a hint -- I would expect some questions about ethics and ethical standards.

I'd have to agree with that. Nervous candidates are always a put off.
So are the over confident.

If you still have time, go to the bookstore and buy a copy of "Knock Em' Dead" (I forgot who the author is). It's a pretty good book of how to handle tough interview questions. It outlines how to answer questions positively, how to turn tense situations around, and how to handle the whole salary discussion. It worked for me, and I recommended it to 2 other friends. They both thought the book was very helpful (and both did well in their interviews = got a job).

Good luck to you!

Well, I was hired at Boeing....

But I was hired for my experience. I had two and a half years as an engineer at a jet engine company before getting laid off, and the group that hired me was looking for an engineer with experience of jet engines. I was actually hired on the basis of a phone interview. I was cold-called by the manager who hired me. He had gotten my resume from the outplacement service hired by my previous employer. (I had specifically requested that they send it to Boeing, so in a sense it was my doing and in a sense it was not.)

That is why you ask questions silly. The magic can be dispelled rather quickly. I want to give every person through my door an opportunity to shine. However, spending half the interview attempting to get a coherent answer out of a candidate takes much more time than the guy trying to put his foot into the 'ol piehole.

In interview, I want to hear what the other guy has to say. I don't want to spend an hour trying to decipher body language before letting a potentially good candidate go to another company or competitor.

Currently a sales representative at Arby's but am currently interviewing for an opening as fries technician level 2, I would be in charge of all importing and exporting of potato strings into the fryer.
