that should only make it worse.

im curious as to what the hell is going on here.
It will make the cat back portion of the exhaust hotter but it will help cool the the rest of it.

I was driving a local canyon run that i have driven for about 6 years, its only about 2 miles long. The front brakes are new as of 2 weeks ago, the e-brake was not on, as stated before. I did 5 runs with a 10 min cool down between each run & after each run the brakes and exhaust were glowing. The run consist of an uphill & downhill... the first time they were glowing i had only done an uphill run which woudnt make sense for the brakes to be glowing, I used to run my sc300 (3600lbs) up and down several times without the rotors glowing. I will take a vid tonight if the road is dry enough to do a run, it should be up by 3 a.m. so check back for a link to he vid. I would like to get past the contradiction and resolve whatever the issue may be.

thanks again guys

The car has espiler springs & the oil was changed at the honda dealer about 1500 miles ago. The temp gauge was readin about 2 bars below halfway. During my "hotruns" the engine rarely falls out of vtec and I never shift beyond 4th gear, I'm not sure how long an uphill run takes but I would say its less than 2 minutes. I only run shell 92 octane gas. It was about 40 degrees out that night. it was easy to spot the glowing because it was about 1 a.m. and in a very secluded place. I was driving with 1 240sx and 2 AE86's. I'm pretty sure that's it... sorry about leaving that info out I thought it was irrelevant. if there is anything else that will help clear things up please just ask.

sorry about typos & edits. I'm using my pda @ work to access the forums & its a little difficult.

Thanks!

Ok guys, so i went out and did 5 complete runs (uphill & downhill) and stopped. I got out of my vehicle and the front rotors were glowing more than the rears, they seem to glow brighter near the calipers and the exhaust was glowing the same as before.
I dont need any info on the brakes, I realize that I need to buy some better rotors and pads. I have always been a fan of EBC products so I will probobly buy EBC rotors and Redstuff pads.

I would like to explain the glowing exhaust a little more...The Invidia cans/muffler tips do not glow but when you look into the mufflers (staring down the pipes) you can see the pipes leading up to the cans glowing bright red, not near as red as the brakes but still enough to notice.
I popped the hood tonight while everything was glowing and I didnt notice any glowing near the exhaust manifold which I thought was odd considering it is glowing all the way at the rear of the car.

All in all if my car is running lean, what would cause this on an S2000 that only has a cat-back exhaust (OEM airbox intact, OEM ECU etc) and how can I fix it? Could it be an 02 sensor, spark plugs, or what? What steps should I take to diagnose this problem and fix it? You all seem shocked that this is happening so obviously there is a problem. I have had my S2000 for a couple of months and dont understand why my "mostly stock" AP2 would be the only car with this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
