Still workin' on it though!

I've had it on jacks for close to a month now. It's starting to get as dusty as Jerry's car.

Just finished everything I was going to do except check the valve clearances. Just made an appointment to get a new alignment done. I'll let you know if the alignment tech dude has any heartburn over the new control arms. The certainly look spiffy compared to the old ones, but I don't know if they are worth $400 or not. The SS brake hoses also look shiny. But the brake ducting looks like the homemade lashup job it is.

Nice write-ups Mike!

How does the anti-bump-steer kit alter the geometry? Is it simply the fact that the link can be adjusted in length or is there an offset at the ball joint (out board) end playing into things somehow?

BTW, nice use of the "Mad Rabbit"

I don't think it does alter the geometry in normal situations. However, at high camber or if your car is lowered, then between the eccentric bolts and the restrictions of the ball joint you run out of toe. So when your suspension gets compressed, you have to toe in. When it gets unloaded, you toe out.

The new arm has a slightly longer lever arm from ball joint to knuckle and more freedom of the ball joint, so it can go up and down more without forcing as big of a toe change. But I think somebody with a stock suspension and a street camber setup would never see a difference.

My car isn't lowered, but I am planning to go to more than 3 degrees of camber. So I think the extra length adjustability will be an asset.

However, it is distinctly possible that I spent $400 for no benefit, too....

hehe... you got the discount hookup, Ethan?

I'm afraid I wouldn't trust anyone who would operate on my unit for $400

Roger!

Hello!

Yesterday I bought an '05 in Metallic Blue here in the Seattle area... so what is the owner's group like here? Seems pretty active from what I see on this message board. So where should I start... which meeting/event should I go to? And I'm also looking for advice on getting the car on a track - any suggestions!?

Cheers,
Roger.
Congrats! May I ask how much (before taxes)? You can either post it here or PM me. Thanks!
