Let's plan a drive
Not a cruise drive, but a crazy drive. Only crazy people need apply. So RT and Tedster.
I'm not crazy yet, but looking to get into the crazy zone on this drive. Sometime soon before I hit the real world. Next weekend? The weekend after? Or even after work before the sun sets? Keeping it simple.

Sounds good! Next weekend or a weekday evening works for me. We're leaving for a 7-day Alaska cruise
Sunday after next, so those two weekends are out.
For an evening, East Mercer Drive sounds good. If we're doing a weekend, we could head for Hurricane Ridge, on the peninsula. Any other ideas?
Who's up for it?

Crazy is relative in this case. All I wanna do is see how crazy you guys are and see if I can get myself to get as crazy as you two.
Let's keep it close to Seattle for the first drive and then do the Hurricane Ridge deal after this one. Does this coming week look pretty free to you guys? I don't get my car back until Thursday. So like another Saturday noon thing would be ideal.
East Mercer is kinda dangerous isn't it? I see a lot of joggers and bikers on the roads there. But it's very twisty.
Decide on time and day and then decide on the run.

Yeah, East MI drive is dangerous. However, doesn't it just add on to the CRAZY side of things?
You are right, SpaceNeedle, there is a lot of people on the road, especially on Sunday morning. And there used to be cops hiding on people's houses to use their radar, but I haven't seen any lately.
It takes a good 15-20 mins to drive around the island once. And it is saver to drive on the Hill side then on the cliff side. So we can start on East MI drive and end at west MI drive. Just let me know when.

Hey RT, did you put your HKS exhaust on yourself? I just bought JPit Neuspeed's and need to put it on. Should I try to install it myself?

John, exhaust install is not too bad. The hardest part is deciding what to do with the stock piece (it's huge!).
Tell me if you need help, my house (and help) is available if you want, but you'll need to figure out a way to get that stock exhaust out of my yard, pronto

No way on east MI way. Way too many lunatics and pedestrians. That is a fun run though, my ex puked after riding with me along there.
Might I recommend a quick drive along Cougar Mountain Way? There is a one mile stretch with a good hard turn. There is another run a mile away off Coal Creek that has a hairpin turn (10mph) that is banked and you can bomb through at 50+. Second gear never sounded so good! Both runs are usually cop free and do not have sidewalks or homes along them. I wouldn't recommend taking the runs more than once. The residents up the hill might call us in. It might be worth while to then drive to Coal Creek/Devil's Elbow/Hobart road. All of these are within 10 minutes of Downtown and are seldom patrolled, especially since these areas are King County jurisdiction.
Just a few thoughts.
