Default Mods?

So what mods does everyone have? What do you like, not like. What do you wish you wouldn't have done?

I am looking at doing a new computer, CAI, exhaust, brakes, tires/rims. Alarm goes in this weekend as well as stereo.

Thanks,
Matthew

It's pretty much been exterior or chassis type mods for me. Please note that I tend to be on the conservative side when it comes to modding a car as I like OEM stuff, require aftermarket parts to be OEM quality, and don't see my car as a way to express my emotions/feeelings/fashion/values/way to be different.

-Full OEM body kit
-Wheels/tires
-Lowered the suspension
-Exhaust
-Sway bar/brace
-Rear speakers
-And a few more things

Total expenditure on toys = $~8K

I personally wouldn't mess with the ECU, intake, ghetto VAFC, etc. You'll most likely find yourself realizing just how well-tuned a stock S2000 really is.

The only mod I'd give consideration to is the 4.44 gears, but then I'm not too crazy about how it'll affect driveability (more revs; more noise).

If I had more money, I'd probably go Comptech SC and call it a day.

I've put on 36K miles in S2000s and have been on this board long enough to cut out 90 percent of the BS, but it grows by the day so more like 10 percent.

Good luck and let us know if you have any more questions.

Ben rocks when he wants to! I don't think anybody on this BB would disagree with Ben's to the point theory above. I do not think I could disagree to anything he said. If you want to dress it up a tad without to much of a gut, change wheels and suspension a bit, you will be all set in the real world.

BTW Jerry, when are you going to realize you need to part out your stereo equipment?? PM me if you would like, I am a vulture.

Jerry,

I might be interested if it's a damn good deal and you help with the install into my car (clean/not ghettoJerryPetersonstyle-just-interested-in-being-RT-fast). Honestly, my hearing's already going with the exhaust, but hell, mo' bass mo' bitches?

Let a brotha know!

Mike,

Fantastic stock car! I swear, I'm getting more car conservative by the day.

I'm taking a much more conservative / practical approach to modifications nowadays. Maybe it's because I'm getting older?

All I have is a Spoon Sports X-brace and OEM front lip spoiler. I keep up with the maintenance and just drive her. This car has more than enough capability for a street driven car.

I lean towards the OEM exterior mods. I just don't like much else anymore.

The only thing I regret is not going for coilovers right away for lowering the car and dialing in the handling.

Only thing I regret is:

1) switching to synthetic too soon
2) not going with custom 17 or 18" - 8" F / 9" R Kinesis K-28Rs with 53+ fronts / 65+ in the rears.
