Mike,
You want too much in your DD. Forget fun- you already have that. If you don't want to use your S for a DD, then you have already given up on fun. That said, you should be able to ignore manual transmission cars- many will need new clutches and you don't want that hassle. Sticking to automatics will open up your choices considerably.

Get something comfy and reliable like a Camry or LS400. Those Toyotas will last forever.

or...

Buy a Buick/Chevy/Toreass for $1700 every year. When it breaks down (and it will), you will be so happy trhat you no longer have to drive it. Then go buy another. Think of it as a disposable car- kinda like Pampers...

i tried the auto thing (as stated in my first post) and i hate it too much. if i was forced into an auto, then i would want to choose something that is kinda sporty and very comfortable. along the lines of an LS400 but not as boaty, more like the 1st gen GS300 or an acura legend. however, those are out of my price range (if i dont want 180k miles on the car). ill look into the 528it as mentioned by young. and sorry ray, no cressida. this car will be a daily, but its gotta have some style.

i cannot find a 98 accord lx manual in my price range, so i have narrowed down further to either a civic or integra. i also have convinced myself that the b18b (ls motor) has adequate power so i am currently looking for an integra ls/gs 4door/coupe (prefer sedan, but no real preference). the only thing that makes me not want an integra is im afraid ill want to do the jdm front conversion.

i feel the integra ls will meet all my requirements above, except maybe for space. however, that is the last thing im looking for (if i really wanted space, then id be looking for a 4runner or something, right?)

so on that note, has anyone here owned an 94+ integra ls? does anyone know if the b-motors last for many many miles? would an ls with 120k+ miles be too many miles?

thanks for all your input. very helpful.
