So this is not my car. its a friend's civic... so to me looks like this car is in trouble... ur thoughts?

While it could be welded, you'd want to root cause why it cracked in the first place.

Exactly.

That won't do it on your own. Something is out of alignment.

actually i personally think its a matter of too stiff of a spring, too low, and not being aware of bumps and chuck holes.

ive seen this before where the control arm was actually hitting the uni-body and caused a crack but this is in a different location entirely.

what is directly underneith that shock tower on the outside portion?

Okay now that I'm sober:

A friend's E30 started doing the same thing, but it had 200k+ on it and a lot of track time.

How old is the car? Is it stock? What type of use does it see?

I don't think that would be caused by the UCA's because as street ruler said, the damage would be in a different location. The car would also have to be slammed.

Was the car in any accidents?
