Need some advice
So, in a not so hypothetical situation, does anybody have insight on insurance matters if a friend was driving my '93 Accord and got in a fender bender?
The car is still on my policy, but he's not. Apparently no damage to the other car, but the hood is pretty mashed up on the Accord, and considering the age and so forth, will likely be declared totaled.
Do I get my insurance involved (Geico), and would they cover anything since it wasn't Kate or I driving? I'd kinda rather not if it's going to make my rates go up, seeing as I was planning on donating this car soon anyway.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Eat what? Make you friend eat stuff!
The car would be covered under your policy if you gave your friend permission to drive it.
What you should do. Your friend should pay for the damage or buy the car off you for what it would have been worth pre crash if the damage exceeds (totaled). Short of that, your "friend" should pay you your deductible and you decide what to do from there depending on the actual damage (if that's the option the friend chooses, that ain't a friend).

Hence, make sure he/she could pay for the damage before you hand over the key...
I have a better idea, have your freind pay your deductible, and have him taken parts off your car and put them on ebay.
IMO, not worth to go insurance route for a couple thousand dollars car, especially you are at fault. (comprehensive will be different case.)
