Hi everyone. I wanted to invite the S2k community down to the Bellevue Uwajimaya this weekend (10/22-10/23) to try some takoyaki. I'll be there cooking it from Noon to 5 both days. Ask for Don and I'll cook some samples up for you. If you like it and want to order some, let me know you're an S2ker and I can make your order 8 instead of the normal 6. I'll let my partners know ahead of time, so they don't get confused when you mention you're from s2ki . Sorry I can't offer any type of monetary discount because the sales go through the Uwajimaya registers.

Takoyaki is a popular street vendor food in Japan but no one makes it fresh while you watch in Washington. I'd say it's as popular there as the hot dog is over here. After you try it, I'd like to hear what you guys think of it, especially if you've never tried it before.

Group drive/field trip?

 

Wish I could say to look for my S in the parking. Unfortunately I can't transport the grills and supplies over to Uwajimaya in it.

A group drive would be fun! Plus good food! Count me in!

 

On the weekends, in the afternoon I noticed that the Bellevue Uwajimaya sometimes gives out sake samples. They do check everyones ID. I thought this might help convince some of you to come by and check it out.

omg i am definitely coming down. i went to japan about 8 years ago to visit an uncle in school and these were by far my favorite food i ate there
