Default PIR Aug 16th

BMW Club meet at PIR is still Thursday August 16th. fee is $100, They should have 3 groups. There is still a 75% chance that I'm going... 0 if it rains. anyone else up for it. New people should note that you need a helmet and the first time you go, you will have an instructor with you the whole time teaching you how to drive!

If its like last time, show up at the gates at 7:00AM to get in and prepare for tech inspection!

Hmmm... maybe.

Any idea how good the instructors are? I would mainly be looking to learn the line at PIR.

Have you verified that they accept the S2000 stock roll hoops? Some groups will accept them, but when you show up there aren't any instructors willing...

I'm also considering the Team Continental classes October 6 or 27; has anyone taken their class?

y2ks2k,

thanks for letting us know about this.

Ted

Absolulty no problem, they have BMW Z3 M's running around all over the place. I ran 3 sessions with my top down. The instructors are top rate, they pay for them to be there. My first time was kinda a good story. All the novice drivers attend classes between their runs. You also have to attend a class before you run. They divvy out the owners to the instructors. As they called my name a guy stops them, they scratch out my instructor and add a new one. It turns out that the guy I had with me (new guy) was the "genius". all the racers ask him to track their cars after modifications to get his input. My 3rd session he actually asked to drive my S2K and man, he scared me. He had never driven an S2K and had heard good things about them. At the end, he had a smile on his face. I learned about this afterwards (that he was the master). I wondered why everyone was asking him how he liked it when we came back into the lot. He told them "Its great".

I did teach him something, I asked him what he usually races (Mustangs) and I told him that the S2000 ws different and needed to have the RPM
