Default Project NSX Wheel Refurbish

So I've had these NSX wheels in the garage for months and have finally decided to get them worthy of gracing the S2K. These are 4 rear wheels that will go on each corner wrapped in 255/40 rubber.

Shot of the wheels before sanding:

There were some light scratching/curbing on a few of the wheels and I used some bondo spot puddy to clean them up.

Curbage taken care of.

A shot of all them prepped and ready for paint.

So now I need to decide what color to paint them. I've pretty much decided to paint them gloss black. The shiny black will match my BB hardtop. It may look funny when I'm top down though. Flat black seems kind of played to me and I like things to shine. Any other suggestions on color?

Here is a shot of the car last summer with the 16's on front and 17's on the rear. These that I've prepped are all 17X8.5. Enjoy. I'll update as I progress in the restoration.

I painted them last night and it went really well except for the smell that hung around. My whole house smelled like paint. Didn't really plan that out very well. Anyway, here are the final results. The picures don't do them justice. The light is bouncing off them in the pics b/c they are so glossy. I've tried several times to capture the depth of the paint but I've been unsuccessful thus far. Enjoy.

So I finally got the tires fitted, Re050 runflats in 255/40. I didn't do much driving on them yet but what I did do made the weight difference apparent. The stock rear wheels w/ 12k of tread removed weighed in at 47.5lbs and these NSX's w/ the runflats w/ full tread was 2 lbs heavier at 49.4. The front s2k wheels w/ stock tires were 41.5.

I'll lower it eventually and it will look much better but for now this is how it will sit. Enjoy.

b/c they are so dark, it's hard to tell that they are NSX rims.

Adding a few pics with the hardtop on. The glossy hardtop and the wheels match well I think.

Looks great man. Goes well with the black hardtop and definitely props for tackling the project DIY style.

I think it actually looks better with the hardtop.
