The also need the serial number of the radio. IIRC, there's a trick to make the radio display its own serial number, but otherwise you have to take the radio out and look at it, since the serial number is on the back.

And you can now do this via the web, at ownerlink.

Dealers usually get a sheet of stickers with the radio cade and radio serial number. Some of them stick them in places. I've never heard of the fuse box, but many people report having them stuck on the underside of the trunk, in the center compartment, or in the secret compartment. It's also often written in the owner's manual.

If it's five numbers, all between 1-6, then that's the radio code. If it's a longer string of numbers/letters, then that's the radio serial number.

If you can not find the sticker, try this:

Remember, this just gets you your radio code:
From Philiam

"turn off unit press and hold #1 & #6 presets while turning the radio on. the display toggles between 2 screens the first displays a U and the second screen an L. Ignore the letters that's your units serial # Ex. U1234 L4321 your serial # is 12344321. Honda just enters that on their puter and you have the antitheft code put in by honda. Beats tearing out the radio. "

The stickers with the code or serial number usually is placed where the pre-delivery inspector wants to put it. Usually the glovebox or fusebox panel. All depends on the inspector. There is no set spot to put it. Yes try the 1 and 6 number write down the numbers. Take it to the dealer and they'll give you the code.

What's ironic about all this is who would want a stolen OEM S2000 head unit anyway? Plus, anybody who steals it would have the S/N and be able to write down the VIN, so they could almost certainly get the radio code anyway. All this radio code stuff does is create a PITA for the owner.

Truth. This is why I had my radio code written in sharpie on top of mine. Figured it was easier that way and nobody would want the damned thing even if they had it!

Yes they can get vin and s/n, but most dealership would need proof of ownership to actually give the code. Even though we don't care about stock radio. To broke people (aka thieves) a free cd player is better then a couple hundred dollar CD player.
