Default S2000 vs. Elk

As I was going on a random drive to Eastern Washington, I hit an elk near Easton just east of Snoqualmie Pass. Fortunately I slowed down from 70 mph before making contact, but the damage was rather extensive, especially to the entire front right fender, bumper, headlight, etc.

I'm yet to deal with the insurance company as I just got back an hour ago, but I'm crossing my fingers it will be covered under collision. A police report has been filed, so I'm hoping that will help out.

As to where to take the car, I am thinking of either taking it to Queen City in Redmond, or Autocrest Auto Rebuild in Lynnwood. I'm located in Mill Creek, but am willing to go as far south as Seattle assuming the car is not totaled.

Here are some photos of the aftermath after having it towed back to the house:

Wow, Yikes! Glad you're OK Eric. What's up with everyone having accidents lately.

It doesn't look too bad though. Doubt it gets totalled.

Shit! Ugh man that sucks. At the very least it looks like mostly cosmetic damage and nothing to serious. I don't know if Obsolete still have his headlights for sale but maybe hit him up. I would definitely take it to a shop but you may be able to save some money if you source some of the parts yourself.

The dent in the door may be the worst of it. OEM fender is maybe $250 brand new from majestic. Anyways glad you are ok and hope the car gets fixed quick and right.

While my pictures I took last night didn't come out too clear, there is actually what appears to be elk blood on the hood of the car. I am sure the elk noticed me, as I heard it making noises from the other side of the freeway.

I still haven't fully decided where to take the car yet, but I have an adjuster coming out in the late afternoon. Spawn's suggestion of getting a set of second hand headlights is a good one, but I am not sure I will stumble across a nice set that hasn't already sold.
