SAC2days from a PACNW perspective
Hi all,
I needed to be in San Francisco for a few business meetings and developed an ear infection just prior to my scheduled trip. The doctor told me NOT to fly until it was cleared up. Oh darn - That meant I had to drive
and with SAC2days coming up I arraigned my schedule to fit. I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive about going as this would be my first encounter/get-together with a bunch of S2k folks, but everyone made me feel very welcome and I felt at home.
I have to tell you, going to SAC2days was definitely a kick in the butt. I had a great time and made a lot of new friends (don't ask me their names - remember I am a member of the Vintage Owners). Elk Grove Honda and Blair Morrow were very gracious hosts. It was well worth the trip. There were about 85 S's that showed up for Saturday's goings-on. Most were from the SAC area and then there were the Bay Area group, the Vas Vegas group and the So Cal folks . . . and me. There were about 12-15 vendors doing everything from installing speakers, S-Pods etc to a mobile paint shop that was repairing/painting dings and chips on S's that needed it. (On a side note: It was impossible to tell the cars were ever damaged in any way after they got done. I had no idea that level of quality could be done under a canopy in a parking lot. BTW, the vendor

I've ridden a motorcycle up and down 49 a couple times. That's one of the roads on my to do list with the car. It's a great road for stopping and playing tourist too. Named 49 because so many gold rush towns and sites are on it. That sounds like a great trip. Not too hot in Sacramento? Old Town and the railroad museum are fun to do in Sacramento also.

I would have stopped at a couple of places to play tourist except it was "follow the bumper" the whole trip
The temperature was tolerable - hi 80's & low 90's. Any hotter and it would have been top-up with AC on
This is probably a good time of the year to do the drive, or in the fall. The summer temps in the hi 90's low 100's take there toll on these tired bones
