Jesus Christ! I cant believe how frequent this is and here ive had my car for 7 years and its the one thing I wish someone would take at this point, slash my top too please Are these cars not being garaged, what’s the deal? Stolen wile parked somewhere for a few hours?
seats were stolen while car was in my driveway, and I've parked it outside for over a year. Thieves must have been eyeing my car for a while. But nobody really comes into Magnolia unless they live there, so that's concerning.
Yeah that bites big time, invasion of privacy, the whole bit is a bad vibe. I'm thankful ive at least got a one car garage I can tuck her away in every night. My truck sits outside but i'm not quite as particular about it plus it has a good alarm system and the S doesn’t.

J/W...if & when someone does decides to take my seats without me catching them...let me rephrase that, without me chasing them down with a butcher knife.. Knowing that my car is now 10 yrs old (AP1, 75k), & could possibly be totaled by insurance. Do I have that option of it not being totaled? Or would I just have eat it up & not report it in order for my car to remain a clean title?.. I know these seats are ridiculously expensive & I'm guessing its gotta be around that halfway mark on my car's value now. It just came to thought since it's nevered happen to me before & damn! my car's 10 yrs old now.

Well hopefully you can find some other stolen S2000 seats on craigslist for a "steel" of a good price and get back on the road without insurance issues.

Jokes aside, sadly this might actually be the best option in some circumstances.

^ Actually S2k seats on CL are very affordable. ranging frm $400-$800. That's a steal! And I've been attempted at times to buy some to replace my 10 old seats. But just out of respect to other S2k owners & esp the ones that get theirs jacked, I don't. I'll mostly likely go after market anyways once the seats can give no more in the wear & tear department.

also, unfortunately, when they total out a car for this reason it leaves a clean car with an unnecessarily dirty title. that will get some people (me in particular) to walk away from a potential buy when it comes time to sell.

Only if it's followed by "can anyone front me some bail money?"

Well looks like no total (no what I wanted anyway), and Geico is going to replace with some 24,000 mile seats (my 2002 S has about 27,000 miles) and get a used top. If leather and convertible top look old, they will be reupholstered or replaced....but Geico is also coming through by allowing me to have poor quality bodywork (from a previous seat theft 3 years ago, and fixed at one of their preferred shops) redone as well. So I feel ok...the first time it happened I felt like my car was raped though...
