It's different for people who are new to the car. I've been there done that with respect to just about every aspect of the car. Same with Ray, Jerry, Russ, and a lot of the other core people who've kept the weekly meeting going. So yeah, it's primarily a social gathering, but when new owners or potential owners come with questions, they always get answered to the best of our ability. When it's nice outside, more S2000s show up and we sit outside and look at the cars more.

If you want a parking lot circle jerk, the Honda Tech meets are probably the best. You'll get a lot of strong opinions about body kits, stereos, and fart can exhausts. That shit gets old in a hurry though, because it doesn't change fast enough to keep it interesting week in and week out.

There is a lot of knowledge and experience that is S related including modding, tracking, shine & show with our local membership. All you need to do is ask. Admittedly it is no longer the primary topic of conversation at tacos but you won't find anyone being adverse to talking about it. Many members have built up a friendship as well as an enthusiasm for the S. I think you would be missing out by not participating (at least sometimes) with that group.

It's not just social. We do 5-10 drives during the summer, more if you include some of the other groups. Tacos is a social outing by its very nature. Think of it as a weekly meet and greet.

IMO, if you're looking for an alternate meet format... Do it on Saturday or Sunday at like 1pm... hang out for an hour or two, go for a short drive. You'll probably get a fair amount of positive responses to that.

only those that drive and can afford S2000's will be welcome, this will filter out some hoodlums, haha.
WTF? You going to tell people driving other cars that they can't park at "your" Starbucks?

Yeah thats excactly what I did at the Houghten Starbucks, and then took them out through Redmond/Fall City and looped around through Carnation/ and the infamous curvy road to Echo lake, then looped back though Kirkland to stop along the water front at Kid Vally for lunch. I had 18 cars show up, and a few really tricked out ones other then my own haha. It was a great time and a better turn out then I was expecting.
