Default Spokane Track Update

If you don't know about the legal woes, then I won't go into them too much. Suffice to say that the owner of Spokane Raceway Park has been playing pretty loose with the finances, and they finally got some hard evidence on him. The track is being managed by a court-appointed third party right now.

I've heard from some folks who are in position to know that there is a pretty high chance the track will be sold for purposes other than as a track. You would think it's out in an undesireable location (near the airport, next to a prison and a junkyard), but apparently there are people who want that property. I've heard the casino is interested, for one.

Anyway, it seems likely that there will be changes for next year. If there is a next year. Changes might or might not be good if it gets sold to someone who wants it as a track, but if the track is sold to someone who doesn't want to run a track it's probably done for.

All this is a way of saying, "if you wanted to drive Spokane again, you might strongly consider getting in there while the getting is good".

From the rumor mill on this side of the hump, it is in receivership and that, it will stay a track. I also have heard that it will be cleaned, and fixed up. Regardless of the outcome anybody coming across for the track days Sept.16&17th?? Remember the HPDE in Oct. as well.
