So what you're saying is that I "instructed" you on a track that I myself never logged any driving time on to that point .......... I can feel your pain/problem then since I couldn't even remember if the next turn was a left or right till the second day .........
Exactly.

No problem, I figured out the whole right/left sequence by the last session of the second day.

Hey, I know. Let's road trip to the Nordschleife and see who can memorize the turns the quickest.

Use the Speed Racer "convert the Mach 5 to a submarine" button.

While eating dinner on Saturday, I asked about order of fast to slow amongst the Pacific Northwest S2KI crowd. I was surprised at some of the answers, and I'd like to see them validated firsthand.
Heh, heh. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall for that one.

I realized that I had been driving point-to-point too much in the heavy rain, so I consciously lifted my awareness of the track out to the whole track, rather than just the visual reference points I had been using. I was seeing whole complexes at once (eg. 4, 4a, and 5 as I was going through turn in for 4) and just driving by the seat of my pants, feeling the traction and not really looking at any of my reference points. But my brain must have been looking at them without me knowing it, because I stayed on line and everything was smoother and better.
I'm pretty bad about the point-to-point thing. Comes from auto-xing I guess. At least that's my excuse. When I specifically try to ignore the "points" and look ahead more I get smother but slower. I miss the turnins and apexes by feet.

The whole thrill/$ ratio thing only works out for me if the weather is perfect, fees are cheap, don't miss any work, open track, low a$$hole count, friends are present, can ride with each other, can drive on track together, no Track Nazi (Frank Style), timing allowed to initiate the shut-up / put-up effect, the list goes on ............ see ya soon I guess
Yeah, I hear ya Ray. For me the requirement is no-rain, friends and relatively open track.

Sun April 17, Alfa day at PR. $165. Three run groups. I will probably sign up to see what it is like.
Anybody done one of these Alpha lapping days before? I'd like to get a first-hand account of it before comitting. Don't want another Porsche club experience.

Maybe we should all just do an all-day or an afternoon lapping with Proformance. We know what we're getting into with that and they come around often enough that we should be able to find one we can all (most) attend.

If there are enough of us, I wonder if Don would do a deal?

If there are open dates, I'm sure he would. My kids' school had a Proformance lapping day on Monday, something which went as an auction item.

In the meantime, I'm signed up for April 11th, with the right to cancel by next Tuesday if the forecast looks icky.
