Yes, shit happens. "Shit," as in "shit happens," is, e.g., hitting a patch of ice and going into a guardrail, when you were otherwise driving reasonably for the conditions.

Driving any vehicle, especially a motorcycle, with a .07 is so much more than that--it's just a monumentally stupid choice. Nothing unavoidable, random or unfortunate about it; it's just stupid.

Likewise with hit-and-run. The "hit" may have been "shit," as in "shit happens." The "run" wasn't. The "run" was a selfish, irresponsible (and illegal) conscious choice.

So, no, I'll be very quick to judge people who make that kind of decision, when the welfare of those with whom they share the road is heavily compromised by their selfish, irresponsible (and, yes, illegal) choices.
That is pretty dumb to hop on a bike with any mind altering substances in you..

I did have an incedent where I had been run off the road nicked a signed.. Cuased my tire to go flat.. I walked for like a mile to get a Jack and spare tire ,then came back to find an officer writing me a "hit and run" ticket.. I was like "are you seriouse right now?".

I was so mad after that.. Called jagg matto and they dropped completly =]

Wow that doesn’t even seem possible without a witness. And since there was no hit and run, there was no witness. What was this cop thinking?

He was thinking there wasn't anybody at the scene. Should have tossed the ticket when the driver returned though. Walking up with a tire seems pretty self explanatory.

Wow, and you are even melanin deprived. Imagine if you weren't!

I think Berto's story is reasonable now if it's what happened - at first it sounded like you were in a hit and run, tried to flee, and were caught. If that were the case, I'm in the same boat as these other guys.

I tried to tell him I was coming back.. I mean who leaves there own car in a real hit and run?!?! Is what I argued with him.. But he said becuase state property was damaged I'm held liable .. And he also told me that if I ever leave my car stranded I better leave a note with my full name adress and a contact number.. Now that is common sense but It wasn going through my mind while all this played out..

After I got the ticket I also got a bill from WSDOT, $47 for coming out and inspecting a stop sign. They said it was in fair condition and didn't need to be replaced.
