[QUOTE=BBY2KS2K,Feb 16 2011, 02:25 PM] Why do you want your car checked? Is there something you're concerned about?

I agree with the others. Not only is this car low maintenance, it's also easy to work on. The S2000 is the only car I've done a spark plug change on and didn't have to use profanity.

There's nothing really I'm concerned about. It has about 90k on it now and I just feel like I need to change out/replace some things. Just to be safe ya know. Still runnin strong. But what else is a good idea to change besides the Spark Plugs? I've had it for about 3 years and put about 40k on it. I baby the car when I drive.

05Thumper is probably the most anal when it comes to maintenance and taking care of his ride. He would know best. So looks like plugs and fluids is it man. Enjoy the car. If you drive it sensibly and do regular fluid change intervals, run syn etc.... you should should have 200k+ miles of trouble free performance.

You should have bought a Porsche Boxter if you wanted frequent costly maintenance. Sorry to disappoint you

9 times out of 10 these things are fine well beyond check intervals, also these are very easy to check yourself. For most of us that have been around cars and work on them ourselves this is a no brainer to check. Tire condition, brakes, fluids, hoses. All this stuff you should be familiar with. If you like spending $200-400 every 6 months to have the dealer do this for you then by all means.

Buddy has a shudder on acceleration on his AP1 and I can't diagnose it knowing his ezmode things are fine: plugs, valve lash, new cat, no cel - other than a dealership, what options are there around here for reputable shops who can run diags and actually help him? Thanks thanks!

edit: just told me he has an extended warranty on the car, so now i'm laughing at him - but I'd still like to get some shop recommendations in case I need one later or someone else here does

Its been a couple years and a couple staff changes, but Honda of Kirkland has always been my place of choice in the past.

Your buddy probably has a MAP or TPS issue.

Very true. When I decide to sell my S2000 (not for a while ) someone will get a clean ride with 'over the top' maintenance. That's the nice thing about Hondas...you just do a few minor things and it will treat you well.

Get your brake fluid changed Chris!
