wheel upgrade ?
Correct not looking to buy looking to compare different options. I understand that tire choice and brand along with size does have a big difference on ride quality.
My main question was the appearance and filling of the wheel wells as the first priority based on size as well as brand of wheel and tire choices. My main thrust is to not modify anything that cannot be returned to stock.

My question to you would be what tire widths F/R would you prefer to utilize? This will narrow down the wheel options. Fyi - 18" have a wider tire availability if that is important. Cost and weight goes up though too of course over 17". If maximizing tire width isnt as important to you then I would recommend sticking to 17" wheel/tire options.
Hmm so you don't want to roll fenders and you will or will not be lowering the car? I think you need to stick to 17's with offsets close to AP2 OEM. So basically the higher the better. Enkei has the PF01 that comes in S2000 specs. You should also stay close to the OEM staggered setup so 7.5 or 8 in the front and 8.5 or 9 in the rear.
In addition to what has already been said, be sure to check this guide out as well:Wheel Fitment Guide
I'm going to agree with Manga on the PF01 being a great wheel for zero fender work. They look great, come in multiple colors, and have good widths with high positive offsets.

Just fyi - You can get a 285/30/18 on a 10.5" wide wheel at +70 to fit in the rear without rolling fenders, which is why I posed the question. The front not nearly as much and requires some considerations. 17" rim your pretty much stuck in the 255/40 zone.
Is this actually true is you are staying on stock suspension? Also I have seen S2000's with 18's and stock ride height and it looks terrible. Spend some time looking through the gallery and reading. I will say not rolling your fenders severally limits your choices but there are options.

One local goofball example from a different era
