where to install a diff with gears?
I was going to buy the J's ECU $1600 before core return but im really debating...I still need one more to go with my i/e/h etc mods so I''m really thinking hard about the 4.56 route............i can get the whole setup at hardtop guy for $2100 before shipping then I'll get a $1k after I return my stocker. So now here is the question sine the gear is already installed but now the diff just needs to be put on..........
Where is a place in north seattle/lynwood to install that comptech reinforced diff? Would my local hodna delaer be good? Also all i would have to provide the place is diff fluid since hardtop guy did the whole install or would I need more parts to instlal a new diff?
I'm assuming the price will kill me on labor $90+ at honda and I'm thinking 3+ hours for labor?
The only thing I'm worried about is that you dont gain anything from a rolling start..........I sometimes like to have fun ont he freeway and this would kill your fun from the reviews I've been getting.
ECU vs gears hmm....trying to get this done in afew weeks

I wouldn't get a J's Pre-programmed ECU if it cost that much. I'm sure it does something, but each car varies and for that price your in AEM EMS range. You will have to pay for a tune with the AEM but it would probably have more gains.
But if your paying like $2000, I'd wait and save. Get a supercharger.

Lynnwood Honda offers the S2K club members 10% off of labor and about 25% off of OEM parts. Just ask to talk to "John" he is the service manager - tell him you are with the club to receive the discount......it is already set up in their computer.
Yes you would either have to provide the diff fluid of your choice......or just have them use the standard weight for the rear diff.....they have there at the shop.
No you do not need any additional parts to perform the swap.
Lynnwood Honda will aslo ship your old diff "core" out for you back to Hardtop Guy.
hmm very tempting, I live very close to lywnood honda...I had no idea that this type of discount going on but I'm pretty loyal to Klein honda and their small friendly atmosphere...but if I do diff I'm def headed to lynwood
the debate now is where a gears would be beneficialy in rolling starts. I know they are awesome in a a dig but from a start I keep hearing its very negligable...
Does lynwood also help isntall the yellow jacket as part of the install? if i do do this I will def go with lynwood.
The whole new diff can fit in your trunk or passenger seat right?
Thanks!

NO - I do not believe that the fellas at Lynnwood Honda have had experience with the installation of the "Yellow Box" for the speedo recalibration. If you like I can help you with this if you decide to get gears done.......the installation of the "Yellow Box" only takes about 12-15 mintues.
Yes - The entire differential assembly / housing will fit nicely in your trunk - no problem
